Island Aviation Services Ltd has recently appointed Mohamed Mihad as the new Chairman of its Board. Mihad, who used to be the boss until November 18 last year, will now lead the company with his experience.
Mihad had been in charge for three years, starting in March. During this time, he played a big part in helping the company deal with challenges and come up with new ideas. His leadership and understanding of the aviation industry will be valuable in his new role as Chairman.
Before Island Aviation, Mihad worked in other important jobs. He was on the board at Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and also was the boss at the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). This shows he knows a lot about both aviation and tourism.
This change in leadership is happening while the company is making some big strategic moves. On November 28, 2013, Ibrahim Iyas became the new Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Ltd.
The government has been actively choosing people for top positions in different companies since it started. This shows that there are some broader changes happening in how companies are run.
