A new air ambulance service linking Sri Lanka and the Maldives is set to commence operations on March 1, 2024.
The initiative resulted from a meeting between Mohamed Ameen, Minister of Transport and Aviation Services, and Nimal Siripala de Silva, Sri Lankan Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation.
Minister Ameen mentioned that the discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between the two ministries. Additionally, they reached an agreement to establish a framework for expedited approval processes between the two countries for urgent requirements, particularly in the case of medical evacuation flights.
