After a four-year break, the exciting Teppanyaki Grill experience is making a comeback to the island paradise of JA Manafaru. The culinary team has brought in a new highly skilled master chef who will showcase slicing, dicing, and juggling skills for 12 fortunate resort guests three nights a week starting from February 1st.
Following the 2023 recognition as the “Best Culinary Resort” by TTM, Executive Chef Moosa Nazeer is eager to present The Teppanyaki Experience. The menu includes a delightful sequence starting with traditional miso soup, followed by tempting entrées like Nori Tempura Tacos. Diners can then choose from the finest seafood of the Indian Ocean or opt for meat from the resort’s Ethical Meat program, featuring selections like Cape Grim beef and Hazeldene’s Chicken.
Introduced in 2023, this program addresses the growing demand from travelers wanting transparency about the origin of their food and humane treatment of animals during the rearing process.
Part of the resort’s new sustainability and wellness initiatives, this program aligns with Wellness Your Way, launched in 2023 with a gala dinner on World Food Day, November 18th. The Teppanyaki Experience, like the other six restaurants at this 5-star Maldives island, offers dedicated menu versions for Vegan/Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and low-carb dietary preferences, ensuring all guests can enjoy the live cooking action at the Teppan grill.
Chef Moosa Nazeer expressed his excitement, stating, “I am thrilled to reintroduce our Teppanyaki at JA Manafaru. This was previously one of our most popular dining experiences, and we have taken the hiatus to refine and develop our offering. We can’t wait to see our guests enjoying this once again.”
