The inauguration of the Huravee School Vocational Hub, named “Hunaru Vehi,” took place today with the generous support of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
The inauguration ceremony, held at Huravee School, witnessed the official opening of “Hunaru Vehi” by the Minister of Education, Ismail Shafeeu, along with MACL CEO and MD Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. Notable attendees included Minister of Higher Education Mariyam Maria, Huravee School Principal Abdullah Rasheed, senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, MACL executive members, and senior management from Huravee School.
As part of MACL’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, the vocational hub was established to facilitate the school’s vocational activities. Initiated under the MACL CSR program, the project aims to enrich education by providing students with the skills necessary for successful post-graduation employment. This initiative reflects a joint commitment to advancing educational and vocational opportunities for Maldivian students. MACL contributed equipment for carpentry, welding, electrical wiring, and sewing essential for the vocational hub. Additionally, MACL covered the costs associated with repairs and maintenance.
During the ceremony, MACL CEO and MD Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed underscored the company’s dedication to community development and education.
Minister of Education Ismail Shafeeu, speaking at the event, emphasized the pivotal role of education in the country’s success.
Expressing gratitude for the partnership with MACL, Huravee School Principal Abdullah Rasheed highlighted the positive impact on the school’s educational offerings.
In conjunction with the inauguration of “Hunaru Vehi,” two other centers within the school, namely “Dhasveshi” and “Mariyaadh,” were also officially opened today. Minister of Higher Education Mariyam Maria inaugurated “Mariyaadh,” while MACL CEO and MD Ibrahim Shareef inaugurated “Dhasveshi.”
