President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, following the Cabinet’s recommendation, has announced the establishment of a ‘Presidential Youth Advisors Board.’ The purpose of this board is to provide advice to the President on matters related to youth and to incorporate the thoughts and aspirations of young people in the development of government policies. The decision to create this board was made after discussions on a proposal presented by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts during the recent Cabinet meeting.
The ‘Presidential Youth Advisors’ board will consist of 15 members aged between 18 and 30 years. To encourage more young people to participate, the board will be formed twice during a presidential term. However, for students currently pursuing higher education and those appointed by the university’s Student Council, their tenure on the board will be limited to one year, determined by their position in the Student Council/Executive Committee.
The secretariat of the ‘Presidential Youth Advisors’ board will be overseen by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts. This initiative aims to actively involve the younger generation in shaping government decisions and policies.
