Government Opens Applications for Commissioner General of Taxation Position

The Maldivian government has officially initiated the search for a new Commissioner General of Taxation, prompted by the resignation of the previous incumbent at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

Prospective candidates are invited to submit their applications to the President’s Office on February 20th and 21st, 2024, during the hours of 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Application forms are obtainable from the President’s Office reception or can be downloaded from the official website.

The role of the Commissioner General of Taxation holds significant importance in overseeing the nation’s tax collection and revenue systems, ensuring the equitable and efficient application of tax laws.

Given the crucial role of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) in the national economy, responsible for collecting taxes that fund essential public services and support infrastructure development, the appointment of the Commissioner General is a matter of utmost significance.
