Following Article 84 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the day on which he delivers his Presidential Address to the Parliament will not be considered a public holiday annually.
Today, the President’s Office issued a decree formalizing this decision, confirming that the day of the Presidential Address will no longer be treated as a public holiday. This new decree also specified the repeal of the previous decree No. 4/2019.
