Villa College recently announced the opening of a new mental health treatment facility, the ‘VCare Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre.’ This marks a significant milestone as the first center of its kind established by a higher education institution in the country.
The official inauguration ceremony, led by Dr. Ahmed Anwar, the Rector of Villa College, took place yesterday. Dr. Anwar emphasized the center’s primary goal of fostering a mentally healthy environment for both students and staff of Villa College and Villa International High School. He highlighted the center’s role in enhancing the overall quality of education and addressing challenges faced by the college community.
Named the ‘WeCare Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre,’ it will offer a range of services, including psychosocial support, counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological assessments. Importantly, students enrolled in the Bachelors in Psychology and Masters of Science (Counselling) programs at Villa College will have valuable internship opportunities at the center, providing them with academic and professional experience.
