President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced today the commencement of construction for Kolhumadulu Guraidhoo Airport within the current year. The announcement was made during a meeting with the residential community of Th. Guraidhoo Island.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome received upon arrival, the President highlighted the inclusion of numerous development initiatives in the Government budget within a short time frame. Despite Kolhumadulu Guraidhoo Airport not being initially listed as a developmental initiative in the budget, the President underscored its significance for the residents of Guraidhoo Island and confirmed the Administration’s commitment to realizing the project.
President Dr. Muizzu emphasized the Administration’s dedication to meaningful and sustainable development. He assured the residential community of Kolhumadulu Guraidhoo Island that the Administration is not only focused on airport development but also committed to addressing broader needs.
Acknowledging the present economic situation, President Dr. Muizzu called upon the residential community to collaborate with relevant Government offices in prioritizing needs in order of significance. The President’s tour to the Kolhumadulu Atoll includes a high-level Government delegation.
